Lori Dokken has been working in the music industry for over 35 years, most recently as lead singer and songwriter at the Minnesota State Fair of Music (MSTM).
She was a member of the clarinet group at the Las Vegas Music Festival in 2004 and was a substitute clarinet player in Kalamazoo, MI. From 1997 to 1998 she was the leading singer and songwriter at the Minnesota State Fair of Music (MSTM). She appeared on the national radio show "The Minnesota Public Radio Show" and was a guest performer on "American Idol" in the 1990s and early 2000s. Judi owns an acoustic ensemble with her husband Cliff "Dave" Dokken and works at home in and around the Twin Cities, as well as in her own solo work and as an associate professor of music at Saint Paul University.
She currently has a private studio in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and has performed at the Minnesota State Fair of Music, the Minnesota Music Festival and other events. She was a judge on the national radio show "The Minnesota Public Radio Show" and on "American Idol" in the 1990s and early 2000s. Sonare is a member of the Twin Cities Symphony Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Music Society.
In 1997 she began working with Bobby McFerrin and in 2001 she joined his a capella group Voicestra, which she still teaches as an improvisation teacher. She now works as a voice clinician nationally, teaching on-site via Skype and conducting rehearsals with the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Music Society.
